Q: What is a Modular Vault?

A: A modular vault system is a high security, burglary resistant room that is constructed using multiple panels and a vault door. Modular design allows for heightened customization and design flexibility, compared to alternate vault construction methods. This high security, modular “box” is assembled on-site, enabling easy, no mess construction.

Q: What is the difference between a Vault and a Safe?

A: A vault is a stationary “walk-in-safe”. Safes are typically smaller, able to be moved, and feature a less customizable design. Modular vault systems can be moved, expanded, and reconfigured, whereas safes are stagnant in nature and do not offer design flexibility once installed.

Q: What sized Vaults does International Vault offer?

A: International Vault can manufatcure any sized vault, large or small. From Microvault to Megavault options, our team of in-house engineers is prepared to custom engineer a system that is ideal for your facility.

Q: Does International Vault manufacture and install?

A: International Vault both manufactures and installs. With over 40 years of experience in vault construction and assembly, our expert team is well equipped to tackle your next vault project, no matter the size or industry.

**Q: What does the order process look like?

A: Our team is comprised of experts who will be involved with your project from design development to completion. Our sales and engineering team’s will provide all required submittals upon receipt of order and deposit, and will advise on ship and installation dates shortly after design approval. Production typically takes between 8 to 10 weeks, however expedite options are available. Our installation crew will meet the truck to offload materials, and will begin installation commencement upon completion of offload.

Q: Does International Vault offer any design development services?

Q: Can International Vault provide PE review and stamped calculations?

A: International Vault does have the capabilities to provide both PE review and stamped calculations for projects requiring this level of structural engineering review.

Q: What industries does International Vault work within?

Q: Are all installations completed with a forklift?

A: Not all installations are completed with a forklift. For some installations, especially those in high rise buildings or those with limited access, our installation crew will hand-carry and use various rigging equipment to assemble Lightweight Modular Vault systems. Q: Does International Vault offer DEA approved vaults?

A: Yes. Our Modular Vault systems meet the DEA requirements for secure storage of controlled substances. Check out our specification page discussing DEA requirements, CFR Sec 1301.72,for more information. Please contact our team with any questions.

Q: What is the typical lead time?

A: Our typical lead time 8 to 10 weeks, however this is dependent on the production queue, level of customization, and volume of materials required. Expedite options are available. Please contact our sales team with additional questions.

Q: Are Vaults and Vault Doors fire rated?

A: Our modular vaults and vault doors are inherently fire resistant, however do not have a formal rating. There are currently no manufacturers of “fire-rated” vault doors. Equivalency documentation is available upon request, please contact our sales team.

Q: Are your products certified? If so, by whom?

A: Yes, our products are certified by UL and GSA. Please visit our UL Standards and GSA Standards pages for additional information.

Q: What is the difference in certification with concrete (Megacrete) VS lightweight panels?

A: There is no difference in certification or burglary resistance rating between the Megacrete and Lightweight panels. Both products adhere to the same rating system, and the only difference will be in their composition, weight, and thickness.

Q: How do I know if my floor/slab can handle the weight of a vault?

A: In order to confirm if current floor or slab can handle the weigh of one of International Vault’s systems, a structural engineer will need to be hired in order to assess walls and slab in conjunction with the review of our vault specifications and drawings. Q: Does International Vault manufacture custom sized vault doors?

Q: Can vaults be climate controlled? If so, how does the connection of HVAC work?

A: Yes. Our Vault systems can be designed to include HVAC connections. The ductwork of existing building will be connected with our special port vent panels. Contact our sales team for more

information on climate controlled vault systems.

Q: I need electrical outlets, etc. inside my vault. How does this work?

A: IV provides the necessary offset penetration’s (conduit embeds) necessary for electrician to pull required wiring through. Anything can be surface mounted on interior of vault, i.e. junction boxes, lighting, etc.
