What to Know for a DEA Inspection

Why choose a Modular Vault System from International Vault?
At International Vault, our Modular Vault systems are ideal for businesses and residential applications who are looking for asset protection against theft and burglary. Our Vault security ranges from 15 minutes to 2 hours of UL rated and tested forced entry resistance. On average, first responding police officers only take approximately 10 minutes to arrive to the scene, making our modular vaults the perfect solution for “buying time” during a break in or burglary attempt.
Why are Vaults more secure than Safes?
Modular Vault systems cannot be moved in seconds the way a safe can. With supplemental physical security, such as cameras and heat/motion sensors, the stationary, non-mobile construction of the Modular Vault systems ensures your business or residence will have ample time to contact authorities in the event of a break-in. Alternately, safes can be moved without considerable effort, either by a vehicle or multiple burglars, even when “bolted” or “secured” to the floor.
Maximize Interior Storage Space
Our Vaults are beneficial for businesses that want to store large volumes of cash, inventory, or both. Interior storage space is maximized with a Vault system, as we utilize a high-strength precast concrete (or high-strength LightWeight panel) in order to reduce wall thickness in comparison to alternative cast-in-place options or safes. Safes, due to the nature of their design, are limited on the storage space available on their interior. Some companies opt to purchase multiple safes to store all required assets, however this can be incredibly costly. UL Rated Safes are expensive, especially in comparison to the price per square foot of interior space of a Modular Vault featuring the same UL Rating.
The modular design of International Vault’s Vault systems allows for expansion, reduction, and reconfiguration of the original design. These systems can also be moved, in the event of a relocation of business or residence. While safes may be able to be easily relocated, they do not offer the design flexibility, or heightened protection of our Modular Vault systems.
Vault Ratings and Safe Equivalencies
UL 608 – Rating for burglary resistant modular vaults and vault doors covers our banking, safe deposit, and jeweler products. These systems are available in multiple sizes and are easily paired with an Excalibur Vault Door, available in Class 1 through Class 3 Ratings.
Class M – TL-15
- Class M Vaults and TL-15 Safes offer 15 minutes of burglary resistance. This includes break-ins using hand tools, picking tools, mechanical or portable electric tools, grinding points, drills, and pressure applying devices. Vaults under this Class M rating also feature resistance against welding torches and other oxygen-fuel, gas-cutting equipment, whereas the TL-15 safe rating does not.
Class 1 – TL-30, TRTL-30
- Class 1 Vaults and TL-30 Safes offer 30 minutes of burglary resistance. This includes break-ins using hand tools, picking tools, mechanical or portable electric tools, grinding points, drills, and pressure applying devices. The TRTL-30 rated safe and Class 1 Modular Vault also include the resistance against welding torches and other oxygen-fuel, gas-cutting equipment, whereas the TL-30 safe rating does not.
Class 2/3 – TRTL-60, TXTL-60
- Class 2 and 3 Vaults and TRTL-60 Safes offer 1 hour (+) of burglary resistance (Class 3 Modular Vault offers 2 hours of forced entry resistance). This includes break-ins using hand tools, picking tools, mechanical or portable electric tools, grinding points, drills, and pressure applying devices. The TRTL-60 rated safe and Class 2 Modular Vault also include the resistance against welding torches and other oxygen-fuel, gas-cutting equipment. The TXTL-60 and Class 2/3 Modular Vaults also include protection against explosives.
While ratings between Modular Vaults and Safes may be similar in design, the benefits of additional storage space, modular construction, and a non-mobile design, greatly increase the safety and protection of your assets when stored within a Vault system by International Vault.
